Dr Kershaw’s Hospice, known for its compassionate palliative care, sought to enhance its facilities by building a new In-Patient Unit (IPU) to provide a peaceful and dignified environment. Facing challenges with outdated equipment and limited space in their previous unit, they turned to Innova Care Concepts for expert interior design and furnishings.
Innova delivered a comprehensive redesign, incorporating functional and aesthetic improvements. This included installing six Integralift Bed Hoists for better patient accessibility, twelve Luxe Rise and Recline Chairs for comfort and pressure relief, and a bespoke nurses station to facilitate individualized care planning. Over 90 pieces of loose furniture, along with made-to-measure curtains and blinds, were chosen to create a homely and calming atmosphere. The new unit features ten private en-suite bedrooms and a family lounge, providing a modern, relaxing space for patients and their loved ones. Dr Kershaw’s Hospice praised the thoughtful design and cohesive color schemes that contribute to a comforting environment.
